Louis和Shang拥有一间酒吧，叫做“Hedwig Bar”，没错，是《Harry Potter》里那只漂亮的猫头鹰的名字，取这个名字一方面是源于Shang的热爱和私心，另一方面则是象征着正义与勇敢。Hedwig Bar坐落于上海黄浦区，于2020年疫情初始开业，经过一系列不可抗力因素影响后成长到现在。

这次酒单的主题叫做“茶园漫步”，以Shang研习茶道为起点，Louis在其中采用了中国传统六大茶类来研制鸡尾酒，其中包含了福州茉莉银针，广西六堡黑茶，东方美人等各地经典茶叶，“茶园漫步”使完整的中国传统茶文化脉络在新的领域中焕发出不一样的光彩。我们从九月讨论到十二月，经过一轮又一轮的调整，期间我们各经历了一次小区封控。终于，“茶园漫步”系列得以初见雏形。Louis也在这次新品研制中充分发挥了调酒天赋和六年工作生涯中积累的调酒经验，每一款出品都独具风味。

Louis and Shang own a bar called “Hedwig Bar,” named after the beautiful messenger owl in the Harry Potter series. The name was chosen for its connection to the owner’s passion and personal connection, as well as its symbolism of justice and bravery. Hedwig Bar is located in the Huangpu District of Shanghai and opened its doors at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020. Despite facing various unforeseen challenges, it has grown and thrived since then.

The theme of this season’s cocktail menu is “Promenade in the Tea Garden” inspired by the owner’s study of tea art. Louis has incorporated the six traditional Chinese tea types into the creation of the cocktails, including Fuzhou Jasmine Silver Needle, Guangxi Liubao Black Tea, and Oriental Beauty. “Promenade in the Tea Garden” breathes new life into the rich tapestry of traditional Chinese tea culture in a fresh and innovative way. We spent months discussing and refining the concept from September to December, even navigating through a period of community lockdown. Finally, the “Promenade in the Tea Garden” series started to take shape. Louis has showcased her talent for mixology and her six years of experience in the industry, ensuring that each creation is distinctive and full of flavour.

在开始准备茶酒插图时，我发现自己思路受限于传统风格，导致结果总是不如意。然而，随着时间的推移，我开始拓宽思路，不断向画面中添加新的元素，如多种风格的建筑、人物和花卉蔬果。最终，我成功地将我心中对这些酒的形象诠释出来。我认为这与Louis调制酒的过程有相似之处，他通过抓住不同茶叶的基调，根据自己的理解进行发挥，才能创造出如此多样化的成果。

正如叙利亚诗人阿多尼斯所说：“他了解的中国，不是线条的纵横，而是光的迸发。”这句诗描述了对中国的理解，它超越了表面的形式，而是揭示了内在的光芒和独特之处。在我的插图中，我试图通过引入多样的元素和风格，展现茶酒的丰富多彩和独特魅力，以更好地表达茶与酒的融合之美。

When I started preparing the illustrations for tea-infused cocktails, I found myself constrained by traditional styles, which often resulted in unsatisfactory outcomes. However, as time went on, I began to broaden my creative approach and introduced new elements to the artwork, such as diverse architectural styles, characters, and floral motifs. Eventually, I successfully captured the imagery that resonated with my vision of these beverages. I believe this process is similar to Louis’ approach in crafting cocktails, where she captures the essence of different tea profiles and interprets them based on her own understanding, resulting in a diverse range of creations.

As the Syrian poet Adonis once said, “His understanding of China is not in the lines, but in the eruption of light.” This verse depicts a profound understanding of China that goes beyond superficial forms, revealing its inner radiance and unique qualities. In my illustrations, I strive to showcase the richness and distinctive allure of tea-infused cocktails by incorporating various elements and styles, aiming to better express the beauty of the fusion between tea and alcohol.
